My Work

My paintings portray places special to people’s memories. I often work on a commission basis and like to produce quite detailed work in pen & ink and watercolour. An original painting is a wonderful way to remember your home, a local church, favourite pub, holiday location, public building or local landmark. I also love to paint buildings and landscapes which fire up my creative mind. All my paintings are available as prints and greetings cards, as well as the originals. If you would like a watercolour depicting somewhere special to you, or see a piece of work in my gallery that interests you, please do get in touch.

Watercolour painting down the years has been as much concerned with precise delineation as with spontaneity of expression. My style is a mix of drawing and painting and I like to achieve a detailed representation, particularly of buildings, by presenting an accurate record of the architecture. For me, the application of watercolour with pencil, ink and gouache lends itself to this careful approach.

About Me

I studied design at the Central School of Art & Design and at the National University of Mexico, followed by a career at a London design consultancy. I’ve been a research fellow at the Royal College of Art, taught design in Mexico City and am a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Having now given up design work, I now concentrate on drawing and painting and live in Faversham, Kent.

If you are interested in my work, I will shortly be adding my new Instagram account for you to follow.
